Projapati is a family entertainer directed by Avijit Sen. It is produced by Atanu Raychaudhuri (Bengal Talkies) and released by SSR Cinemas. The film is filled with numerous beautiful moments showcasing the bond between a father and son. Mithun Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar, and Dev play key roles in the movie. The family drama was a box-office success when it was released in theaters on December 23, 2022. It went on to become the third highest-grossing Bengali film in India for the year 2022.
In an interview with a news source, filmmaker Avijit said that there’s a lot to discuss when asked about Dev and Mithun’s acting approaches. According to him, Dev is a natural actor who portrays the character with genuine emotions and feelings. The filmmaker said that while filming Dev and Mamata Shankar’s monologue, which lasted over six minutes, tears started rolling down his face. Avijit thinks Dev’s delivery of his dialog was fantastic. He could sense Dev’s strength as an actor at that point and believes the actor’s character is relatable because he is very close to his parents in real life. His hardworking demeanor and personality brought an additional dimension to his character in the film.
Avijit also shares his thoughts on Chakraborty’s acting technique and said that his(Chakraborty’s) eyes speak louder than words. The director also said that Chakraborty has been Avijit’s idol and biggest inspiration to pursue a career in filmmaking. The veteran actor’s name was at the top of the heroes he looked up to as a child.
