My Food Processor Helped Me Stop Overeating

I’ve been severely overweight for a long time. I don’t know that my actual issue is, and I’m sure it’s a massive emotional issue; but I have a terrible time with night time cravings. It’s almost like something invisible is coaxing me to make the wrong decision.

It’s awful. I’m in a meeting and someone asks “who wants cake?” And I’m like the eager child with the hand waving in the air.

But then one day I was just done. I hated being fat. I didn’t even want to be skinny. I just wanted to be healthy again. I didn’t feel good. I was always tired. Overall I just was not happy.

I saw my primary care doctor, and tried to come up with a plan to get me on the right track. She set me up with a nutritionist that would help me get my eating habits under control.

I learned that the key to success with eating healthy (and most things in life) was to have a plan in place. If you don’t have a plan, you’re more likely to make bad decisions on a whim, like ordering out or just going for the junk food in the cabinet.

The nutritionist told me to pick a day where I have the time to prep all of my food for the week. Even if I cook everything and then freeze it, I’d be in good shape to make the right decisions. She suggested scouring the internet for healthy recipes that looked appealing to me so that I wouldn’t veer off of my path.

The idea of prepping for the week was kind of daunting to me, I felt some relief when I saw that there were some hacks to make everything easier. My first step was to purchase a Cuisinart food processor to cut my prep time down and get things ready in larger quantities.

Between the nutritionist and finding recipes on the Internet, I was able to learn how to manage my macros to have the right balance for what I needed. The food processor was a godsend for chopping, grating and puréeing different foods that would normally take a long time if done totally by hand.

I was really enjoying my prep time and I was building a lot of momentum with new recipes and experimenting with different things. I was surprised to see how many things I could make that were so good and still healthy.

I decided to try different parts for my Cuisinart food processor from Kitchen Works USA where they sell Cuisinart DLC-8 4-piece Tritan Bowl Kit Part

When I went back to my doctors office for a follow up about 2 months after, I had lost almost 20 pounds already! I was feeling so much better from a physical and mental standpoint that the idea of eating junk food didn’t even cross my mind.

Overall, I’m on the right track and I only cheat during special occasions. I’m so thankful that I found a tool to help me on my journey to better health.
